Further Healing Between Hospitalization & Home
At Russell Medical, we're proud to offer a dedicated Transitional Care Unit (TCU) — a specialized inpatient program designed to support patients as they move from hospital care to home or a lower level of care. Whether you're recovering from surgery, illness, or injury, our TCU provides the comprehensive support you need to regain strength and independence.
What is the Transitional Care Unit?
The TCU bridges the gap between acute hospital care and returning home. It's ideal for patients who've experienced a recent medical or surgical event and still require close monitoring, therapy, or medical management before safely transitioning out of the hospital.
What to Expect During Your Stay
Our approach is centered around you. The care team includes physicians, nurses, therapists, dietitians, and your own TCU coordinator — all working together to create a customized care plan that supports your recovery goals. Therapy services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, are offered six days a week to help you build confidence and strength.
Our Goal: A Safe & Confident Return Home
The TCU is typically a short-term stay focused on meaningful progress. Whether you're preparing to return home or to another supportive environment, our team is here to make that transition as smooth and successful as possible.
