LAB ASSISTANT (FT-CANCER CENTER)

Job Summary
Responsible for venipuncture, processing of lab tests, quality assurance and rendering professional clinical care within the medical practice in support of and as directed by the physician. Also responsible for registering all patients for clinic lab visits.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience
Minimum of two years of phlebotomy experience in a physician office or hospital setting.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
Certification as Medical Lab Assistant preferred. BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
Equipment, Tools, Work Aids
Hematology analyzer, other waived testing equipment, computer, copier and facsimile.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Medical terminology, quality control of lab instruments and knowledge of CLIA standards and regulations.
